I was on break and having a conversation with a friend at work the other day. We got onto the subject of gas prices and how things really work. The theory brought up in the chat was that every year they hike up gas prices. Especially during the summer months, which is expected by the American public. Everybody acts outraged and pissed off, yet you people pay the prices anyway. Back to my point, what they do. Let’s suppose that gas is $2.00 a gal. it goes up to $2.75 every one is upset yet they deal with it. After the summer months prices go back down to $2.35 and everyone is happy they dropped. Overall people prices didn’t drop. Over the course of a few months they went up 35 cents a gal. This happens every year, and has been happening ever since I can remember. In 2004 (I believe it was) prices went to $1.75 a gal and we were pissed off. If prices drop to $3.25 a gal now most people will be relieved. Is this due to a sheer lack of brain power on our part? Or, are we just too darn lackadaisical to care?!?
