I write these posts, mainly to get people thinking about themselves. Get them to dig into there inner thoughts and feelings. What is failure and how do we view it? Failure is basically the inability to achieve a goal. In the dictionary it says that failure is: omission of occurrence or performance; failing to perform a duty or expected action; (in this case, everyday I work with people who fail ). Lack of success, a falling short, blah blah blah. If someone views us as a failure, generally, it is because we did not meet their expectations. If we have met our own, however, and we are all we want to be, then why worry about them and what they think? If you are not meeting the expectations of others, it is in my opinion that you do not want to. Family that love you will never view you as a failure. They may have wanted to see you do better for yourself. Deep down all parents really want is for their kids to have a better life than they had. All in all, though, if you are happy with the path you chose, as loving parents we are happy for you. If you are a failure in your mind due to a lack of success. Then the only thing you actually failed at was not by-passing your limitations. Physically or emotionally, somewhere along the way you let yourself down. Although if the people around you do not view you as a failure, then maybe you should stop being so hard on yourself.
