The questions, to all of those who dare to venture in here and glance around or maybe even read this, are these: what is the difference, why is there a difference, and how should we change it?
First of all let me state for the record that I have first hand knowledge that there is a difference. When I went to court to have my spousal support stopped, maybe I should explain that. I had originally agreed to pay my ex-wife spousal support so that she could keep the house that we bought together. The house was supposed to be an investment for the kids. When she passed on it was going to go to them so they could sell it, and they would have some money for what ever they needed. Two years ago in January she stopped paying on the loan and in May they moved out. By the time I found out in August the loans were too far behind and the property went into default (which stays on my record for at least five years it could be seven I do not really remember which). Back to court, I filed for stoppage of the spousal payments and the judge told me that because I did not state on the original documents why she was getting support that she still gets it. So therefore it is legal yet in my mind, and by the way in the mind of all my co-workers, friends, and most family members, it is not moral.
That story right there is why I feel, well, know that there is difference. I also know that it would take a lot of legal and moral debating to get it changed in the eyes of the law. Which by the way it seems, in this case, out weighs the thoughts or feelings of the church. My ex is a god fearing church goer. I guess morals aren’t really taught in the church anymore.
Starting to get a little off track here, so anyways that is my take on the whole thing. I may come up with more later this particular book “Versus” is more or less on the back burner. I do from time to time stir it up a little to make sure it doesn’t boil away.
Just in case anyone is interested, other topics include the following:
Opinion Vs Thought, Good Vs Great, Conception Vs Perception (this is a good one), Feeling Vs Emotion, Need Vs Want, Hope Vs Optimism.
I know that some of these subjects it is merely the spelling, however, I am hoping to spark some thought and optimistic that there are folks out there that would love to express there thoughtful opinions.
