It seems to be a general consensus that there is no such thing as perfection. I know, because I tell people that all the time. It is stated in lines such as “nobody’s perfect”, or, “in the perfect world.” Would we have these lines if things were perfect? I think not, How about a couple of quotes for you: “The essence of man is imperfection” Norman Cousins. “His only fault is that he has no fault” Pliny, the Younger. Wow! that sounds like even if you are perfect you are boring. I gotta tell you if you are boring life isn’t perfect.
I could go on, but too many quotes would make for an imperfect blog. Which, by the way I have started three times….er so far….Let’s face it we all have our flaws. for instance, suppose you meet someone who seems to be perfect, they have the looks, the brains, the wit, you know, they are probably a slob. Maybe they have the looks and they are neat as all hell but they ain’t too bright.
How can we expect perfection out of ourselves when, according to some, “God isn’t perfect he can’t even make two mountain ranges the same”. A. I am pretty sure he planned it that way.
B. If every mountain, or even the trees were the same it would be pointless wanting to climb different ones. C. I am not talking about nature anyway, I am supposed to be talking about people.
It looks as if I imperfectly got off track there. Anyway, as I was saying, we are not perfect. As I feel this can never be remedied, it should be a goal we all set for ourselves. We should always strive for perfection, and even if we do not achieve it, we will be better for trying.
