Here I go again…………..
When it comes to the dumbing down of America, it is not that I am against my own country. It is that the stupidity that seems to be running rampant gets to me. Take commercials for instance. Some of them seem to be aimed at the goofiest people alive. For example: the Burger King or is it Jack-in-the-Box, (doesn’t matter), commercial in which the guy is going to marry bacon. Really, Really, are people that stupid that somewhere someone thinks that is entertaining? What about cases of sugar packets that state on the outside of the box: 1000 Individually wrapped packets! People…if they weren’t individually wrapped they wouldn’t be packets. I know that some labeling is necessary but this is ridiculous. It kills me that some of us have to state the obvious so that the rest can get through the simple tasks without much effort.
If I were to put all the thoughts in my head down on paper, I would have three pages of pure non-sense and rhetoric. Three pages of anti government rants, and three pages of anti-anti-government sentiment. I do believe that deep down I would have made a great psychologist.
Maybe i would feel better if I was sitting here sipping my Folger’s coffee, in nice clean clothes washed in Tide with/bleach, completely pain free thanks to the Aleve I just took for all day relief. This in turn allows me to don my Nikes and take a run to the nearest Starbucks, and grab a cup of joe before I head to Denny’s and get the 2,4,6, value menu. After which I can head to the local market for some hearty Campbell’s chunky soup, or maybe a sandwich OMG do I go to Port-o’-subs (sliced fresh), Quiznos(mmm toasty), Subway (eat fresh), aaahhh I am so confused!!!! wow do you think they have shoved enough commercials up my…err..I mean down my throat???
why is it everything that is supposed to be better for you is more expensive? Don’t they want the country to get healthy?
they (the government) wants everybody that does not have health care to get health care, you know pay for it. Question 1: If Average Joe makes $20 and hour and John Doe makes $10 an hour, and they are supposed to have the same type of health care benefits package, is it a straight across percentage that is fair to all concerned? OR…is it a set fee that Joe can probably afford, but John can’t?
why give food stamps for free and make them pay for health coverage. while on the subject of food stamps. It is the belief of myself as well as quite a few of my co-workers, that one should only be able to purchase items of some nutritional value. No junk food allowed. Lets face it if you aren’t going get off your bureaucratic butt to regulate who receives the welfare, (as it seems that there are quite a lot of people cheating the system) the least you should do is limit the type of items they can spend it on.
Oh…..to all you anti-government conspiracy theorists out there….what if now this is just a what if.bare with me here……The government wants people to pay for there own health care while they get the food for free, Because, they would rather the people figure out on their own that if they use the food stamps to by healthier foods we would ultimately end up a healthier people. Ergo they would need less health care, they would pop less pills, have less aches to whine about, and be in better overall shape. Maybe the government feels like I do and they want more people to do less whining and be more aggressive in taking care of themselves. Scenario A. You go to the grocery store and buy some nutritional foods with your welfare card. You feel good and you seldom need the doctor. Scenario B. You go grocery shopping with your welfare card and buy food that has very little nutritional value. what the hell it is free. But then you have to go to the doctor more often because you are overweight, you may have diabetes, high blood pressure, etc…..and the doctor visits cost you about six months worth of gas and groceries.
maybe just maybe more people would start eating healthier and maybe just maybe that is what the government ultimately wants to accomplish.
