So, I was gone for a couple of weeks. I went to Colorado, Aurora to be exact. I went to visit my best girl Deborah. Her birthday was on the 28th I wanted to help her celebrate it. I was actually there for two weeks, it was the first time in a couple of years that I have gotten out of town.
She had to work most of the time I was there. We were able to see each other from time to time and we had some good times. I did have to do some things on my own. I visited the Coors Brewery, and the Botanical Gardens.
The tour is free and self-paced after which their is the lounge in which you are allowed to sample up to three different beers. Of course you can have three of the same if you wish. That to me seems like kind of a waste though. My favorite was Colorado’s own it is a darker beer with plenty of robust flavor. Some dark beers are a little too stout and can be quite heavy, however not this one.
The Botanical Gardens were a variation of many different types of plants. There is the herbal garden, the African Gardens, the Asian Gardens, they have the Scripture Gardens, well so many wonderful flowers, & trees. So many different types of plants from all over the world, it was beautiful. I got some pictures that as soon as I have them developed I will get them in here.
There are a few places I wanted to go that due to the fires and the danger they presented, I was not able to see. The Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, and there is also a cave tour. The Cave of the Winds. They have two different tours the first is the more modern version. It takes about 45 minutes. The second is the Lantern Tour it takes about an hour and a half. If I remember right the first one is $12 and the Lantern tour is $18. I would have loved the latter.
I do have to admit there were a few things I did not do. To be totally honest I felt bad here I am trying to have a good time and there are so many displaced people. Last count I heard over 600 homes were lost. I did want to go to the Downtown Aquarium. I really did not think I wanted to go myself and as I said earlier my friend got stuck at work most of the time I was there.
A few of the things I might have done with or without company the 16th street mall, and the Zoo. I actually put off mainly due to the 100+ degree temps we had for five days straight. When it finally cooled down it was still in the 90’s. All in all I had a pretty good time getting to know more of the area and all the numerous things there are to do there.
A small list, rafting, glider tours, amphitheaters, shops and parks. Anyway I am definitely looking forward to my next trip there.
